Melancholy: Gregory and Eve

Greg: Amused by the huge change in her demeanor, he simply squeezed her hand and interjected with his own laughs and comments when he could.

"I should warn you, it hasn't been that hard to avoid my dad." He told her as she opened the door and lead her inside. "He's been locked up in his lab for days at a time again. I don't know what he's doing in there, but I guess it's pretty serious."

As if on cue though, Greg was knocked to the ground by a giant black and orange blur, which then stood over him and purred loudly.

The massive plush cat turned its head towards Eve, its tail curling at the end in a ?-shape and the purring increased in volume.

"Hi dad..." Greg wheezed from his position on the floor and reached up to ruffle the fluff on the cat's chest. It closed its eyes happily and nudged its head against Eve's side affectionately, nuzzling her ribs.

(CAT DAD TIME.)

Eve: Petted him on the head with a big grin on her face. "Mr. Golem! Hi there!" She hugged his neck and helped Greg get up. "It's been a long time!" She giggled at his purring and hugged Greg around the waist before petting the giant plush cat again. "It's good to be home, right Pumpkin?" she directed at Greg.

Greg: "R-right," he said nervously, noticing his dad was staring at him with really intense eyes. "What have you been up to, Dad?" He asked carefully, watching the cat's reaction.

It ducked its head, nuzzled Eve's hand again, before turning as if nothing had happened and stalked off into a darkened portion of the house - towards his lab.

'Am I supposed to follow him?' Greg wondered, and glanced at Eve.

"Uh... guess he just came out to say hi?" He said, a little unsure. If his dad had to talk to him, he could come back out in his more human form, instead of tackling him as a cat. He wanted to spend time with Eve now that they were reunited.

Eve: She laughed lightly and hugged him around his waist again before kissing his neck softly. "Guess so." She hummed happily and started moving to the living room, still holding on to Greg. "He'll come back out in his normal form if he wants to say more. That's what he normally does, right?"

Greg: He blushed at all the physical contact and wrapped his arms around her lower back as she pulled him along. "Yeah, if it's actually important, he will." He eyed her with a glint in his eye and smirked. "Where are you herding me, anyway? Just to sit on the couch?"

Eve: "Yep!" She smiled up at him. "But, it appears that I also can't let you go, so," leaving the statement open-ended, she pulled him down to the couch and rested her head near his collar bone, humming a tune that she knew he could recognize right away as the one that played at prom when they finally got to dance.
