Haaruin: Candy, Spiders and Alcohol

Haar: While he wasn't actually embarrassed about being carried, he wasn't exactly dandy about it, but was aware that's the only option. He waited patiently while the three went up the lift, trying hard not to make eye contact with Rufus (Let's be honest though, awkward eye contact happened) When the trio got the 5th floor, Haar floated out from Rufus' hands and onto the floor (Noticeably cautious of the small doors) and brushed himself off and turned to his colleges. "Um... Thank you...Much thank you..."

Cain: He breathed a sigh of relief. "Note to self," He rolled his eyes playfully at Rufus, who was pretending to take out a notebook and pen, "Thanksgiving and Christmas are more similar than you think."

Rufus: Satisfied with his imaginary note for himself and Cain, he nodded at the non-items in his hands before tucking them into his actual pockets as though he was really saving that for later. Striding out into the hallway, he figured the best place to be on the St. Pat's floor was at the bar. "You're welcome, Mr. Grimm!" He cheered at Haar as he passed him, putting a hand on his shoulder and giving him a friendly shake. "Think nothing of it! What say we all forget this experience over the sharing of a pitcher of something amber-coloured?" He suggested with a wink at both of the other men.

Haar: He was still a bit nervous after being carried, but after Rufus shook him, decided it was in the past. The fingers in his jacket poked and nudged him forward, so after looking to Cain for a nod of approval, he skipped after Rufus. He really didn't have the slightest clue of what an 'amber colored drink' meant, but figured it was of some sort of custom. Plus, some bugs were amber when you squished them, so it was worth a shot!
(Terrible pun, I know)

Rufus: Pleased to see Haar going along with his suggestion, he half-turned and waited for Cain, sending another wink in his direction.

"You coming or not?" He called out with a laugh. "If all else fails, we can experiment and see what happens when I try to make hot chocolate using magic."

Cain: Grimacing playfully, he strode down the hall to follow the two men, using his cane in wide, sweeping strides (despite the fact he didn't need to).

"I'd hate to see what sort of hot chocolate could be conjured up by nature magic," Cain said with a laugh. "But I'm in for a good scotch if we can find some!"

While he followed his colleagues- friends, he corrected himself with a grin- he thought (a bit guiltily) about how much easier it was to be himself with them than Crispin or anyone else in the faculty. Even with Haar's fear of Christmas. It was a bit eye-opening to the Professor's condition since the previous year.

Rounding the corner to the bar located in the common room, he took a seat at the bar stool and said, "Who's playing bartender tonight, gentlemen?"

((this is going to either be the best thing or the worst thing or maybe both.))

Haar: Floating off the ground, he threw himself onto a bar stool and joyfully spun in it. He watched the two men talk with a huge smile on his face while the hands in his clock started to mess around with items on the bar.

He quite enjoyed their company (even if they still smelt of candy) and found their conversations fun to listen to. Despite not quite knowing what a "bartender" was or "scotch," he figured nothing too bad would happen with his new found friends, and hummed to himself excitingly.

Rufus: "You wound me..." Rufus said while he stood and waited for Cain, hand clutched over his chest as though actually in pain. He grinned immediately after though, as if it wasn't already obvious he was not hurt at all. "I never took you for a scotch drinker!"

After the other two had situated themselves at the bar, Rufus put his hands on the counter briefly before heaving himself over it like it was a hurdle. He landed on the other side of the bar gracefully, though when he looked at Cain he was receiving a raised eyebrow that indicated he could've just used the walk way at the end of the bar to get behind it. To this, Rufus gripped the fur-lined openings at the front of his coat with both hands and grinned.

'But what would be the fun in that?' He communicated in the raise of his scarred eyebrow, to which Cain shook his head with another laugh.

Rufus watched Haar's reactions to everything with a smile, pleased to see the man enjoying himself so much. He had been worried this plan might backfire, but so far things seemed to be going well.

Rolling up his sleeves, he set to work behind the bar locating three glasses. He poured scotch directly into the glass for himself, but held onto Cain's glass beforehand.

"On the rocks?" He asked.

((I was going to have Rufus automatically pour Haar a glass with ice in it because that helps make it... not as... 'bad' I guess. XD But I figure Rufus was getting too much enjoyment out of watching Haar spin to stop that by putting alcohol in front of him yet.))

Cain: He, in fact, wasn't much of a scotch drinker, but St. Patrick's Town had a very good brand that he enjoyed. He figured they probably wouldn't have any other brand.

Also enjoying the pleasant vibes Haar was putting off, he grinned in his direction. At Rufus's question, he turned before sending him a playful wink and saying,

"Yessir. Sorry, we can't all be purists like the sophisticated Rufus Augustine Cornelius." He peeked at Haar again out of the corner of his eye and, wary of the effect of alcohol on the man, said, "You should probably make Mr. Grimm's on the rocks too, my friend."

Listening to the clinks the ice was making on the glass, he turned around in his stool and kicked his feet a bit while gazing up at the high-vaulted ceilings. Why did he give up the top floor to St. Patrick's Town again? Ah, Aven. He smiled at the ceiling. That was right.

When Rufus slid the drinks across the bar to them, Cain grabbed his as he spun around and continued to spin so he was facing the lounge area in the common room again before taking a sip. As he suspected, It was a Fitzpatrick scotch. He couldn't expect any less of the St. Patrick's floor.

"Rufus, Mr. Grimm, have you had a Fitzpatrick scotch before?" he asked. "Aven introduced me to the brand (not that she dabbles much in it anymore, obviously), and I must say-- it's one of the best I've had."

((HAHA I did that I'm sorry))

Haar: Letting out a care free, "Why no sir, I have yet to!" and having not the slightest idea of what was going on, Haar was quite unsure of the drink in front of him.. 'Scotch' sounded a bit too close like 'butterscotch' for his liking, but he decided he could trust them!

Watching the ice float to the top of his drink so intently he could see his own reflection, he smiled and brought it to his lips. He rested it there for a solid minute before promptly downing it all down in one loud chug.

Wiping his mouth on his sleeve, he let out a deep laugh, and with a light-hearted cheer cried, "WHY, THIS IS NOTHING LIKE CANDY AT AL-" Cutting himself off, he heeled over and let out a series of coughs. He rushed one of his own hands straight over his mouth, the other around his stomach, and his eyes opened wide. After a moment of then silence, he slowly sat up straight, wiped the sweat from his brow, and then let out a laugh again and gave the bar itself a light pound with his hand.

"Aha...AHAHAHA, WELL that's just dandy!"
Spinning in his chair again, he then declared, "I'll be having another, please!"

Rufus: "But of course." He purred, swirling the liquor in his own glass and enjoying the aroma of it for a moment before he took a drink. "Do you really think I wouldn't know of it? Come now, Cain, I thought you knew me inside and out." He mock-pouted at the Christmas teacher, before laughing and taking another drink.

In between sips of his own beverage, he watched Haar staring into his drink. He wondered if maybe he should tell the Halloween teacher he didn't have to drink anything if he didn't want to - or, if he prefered, there were in fact different options, many of which were non-alcoholic, behind the bar Rufus was presently standing behind.

However, before he could say anything, Haar suddenly tilted his glass back, downing the entire thing at once. Rufus jolted, shocked and amazed at the other man's bravery... or maybe it would be more accurate to call it foolhardiness.

"Goodness, man!" Rufus mumbled quietly, sounding both impressed and concerned. He let off a light-hearted laugh before he raised the volume of his voice, and asked if Haar was quite alright after that exertion. Rufus himself had tried that a couple times - a LONG time ago, in his younger years, and he certainly knew how painful it could be.

When Haar merely spun in his chair again and asked for another, Rufus burst out laughing and looked at Cain as though asking 'Should I? Should I really refill his glass?' He held the bottle over it temptingly, but didn't pour any out yet.

((I LOVE HAAR. Omg though, bb pls. That would hurt SO MUCH. *rubs his back and gives him... whatever he'd find comforting*))

Cain: Now that his glass was a bit emptier, he glanced over at Haar with a grin and shrugged at Rufus lightheartedly. "That was quite impressive, I say..." he paused, examining his own glass as he swirled the contents through the ice cubes.

Suddenly, he stood and downed the rest of his glass in one gulp as well, resulting in a few very loud and painful-sounding coughs as he doubled over. After he stood back up (hair sticking up oddly in the back where he had rubbed his head), he spluttered, "Live a little! I say hit us both!"

((CAIN HOW DID YOU MAKE SUCH RAD FRIENDS YOU DON'T EVEN DESERVE HAAR AND RUFUS OMFG))

Haar: As proud as he was, he was far prouder of Cain for doing the same! Haar was very pleased to see his friends react in such a positive way, as he worried whether or not he had offended them. Although he was still in pain, a huge grin appeared on his face.

As he sat an waited for his next drink, arms crossed on the table, he couldn't help but to laugh at Cain's new look. "Why, Candy Man! Your hair is quite a good look for you!"

Now on the topic of hair, Haar smiled at Rufus behind the counter, and playfully asked, "Man of wheat, do you always drink so slow?" And let out a laugh.

Rufus: Staring at Cain with his jaw hanging open again, it took him much longer to recover from the shock of seeing Cain down a glass of scotch like it was a shot than it did after he witnessed Haar do it.

Shaking his head to clear it, he only regained awareness of himself when Haar asked him about how he enjoyed his drink.

Swirling it again, he stared down into it and debated what to do.

"I'm not exactly one to..." He trailed off. Did he really feel like sounding like some kind of alcoholic hipster and talk about how he didn't believe in taking his scotch on the rocks, or treating it like a shot, because that wasn't the proper way to enjoy such a fine beverage? ... Not really.

Having made up his mind, he tilted his own head back and downed the rest of his glass. Hacking loudly after he did, he alternated between laughing and gasping for breath.

"Who said I was slow?" He challenged, and poured more into all of their glasses before he did the exact same thing with his refilled glass... and immediately began coughing as he previously did. But hey, no one could say he was the weakest challenger here.

Cain: After promptly doing the same with his second glass as he did to the previous, resulting in hacking and coughing through a grin, he breathed out through his nose as he slammed his glass on the table.

"Should we keep pouring flames down our throats, gentlemen, or should we switch to something a little easier to handle and less expensive to go through so quickly?" He said all of this with a grin, though, heavily implying that he didn't care either way. His throat was burning, but he barely noticed it next to the feelings of glee in the room.

((NO DON'T CALL CAIN THE RADDEST BECAUSE /HAAR'S/ THE RADDEST AND DON'T YOU DARE SUGGEST OTHERWISE omfg i love you claire))

Haar: Gleefully watching Rufus and then Cain again again, he himself took another 'shot' of scotch. Laughing, coughing, then laughing again, and wiping more sweat off his face, he lightly placed the glass back down on the table. He was pretty worried about his colleagues, (not so much himself, as he was sure it couldn't do too much damage as most of his internal organs were decayed, anyway) he figured it might be best to try something else.

"Why, I'm always open for something different! Ahaha, I was getting quite bored of this anyway!" He then leaned back in his chair and stretched his arms (and then the arms in his coat followed, of course!), and managed to pull a loud yawn for affect.

Rufus: Trying to hide the relief on his face at the suggestion of doing something different, he folded his arms across his chest and laughed hoarsely after doing two shots of scotch in a row. It was less the burning pain of doing shots of scotch, and more that they were doing shots of scotch and THAT'S NOT HOW YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO DRINK IT but he quelled his inner foodie (drinkie??) by reassuring it a good experience always comes first. Whatever imaginary manifestation of his discomfort to treat food and drink with anything but the utmost respect muttered something darkly and scurried away into a corner of his head under a fuzzy blanket to hide what else might await an evening started with doing shots of scotch.

"Well, we can't let our latest musketeer go bored, now can we?" He said to Cain, referring to Haar's supposed boredom with a wink. "Any requests, gentlemen?" He asked with a flick of his wrists, suddenly spawning two proper shot glasses from the sleeves of his coat. (He had probably stashed them their earlier, just so he could pull of this very trick.) He spun each one on the tips of his pointer fingers, one on either hand pointing at Cain and Haar.

Cain: Unable to stop himself from laughing at this point, he allowed himself to laugh loudly and freely as he watched Rufus be probably the biggest ham in the entire academy and likely the holiday worlds themselves and then stood up.

He put one hand on his chest and the other out in the air, as if about to make an important declaration, and said in an authoritative voice, "Then mix us something up, O Duke of our friendship, the kitchen and the mighty harvest and all that is therein!"

He slid his small-framed glasses down his nose a bit before peeking at him over them and saying, "You are the best qualified, I'm sure," with a wink.

Haar: He laughed with Cain, and gave Rufus a smile that stretched from the corners of his face, happy Rufus figured out his plan for moving the drinking along. He took the glass from his finger tip and was examining it as Cain gave quick speech.

Hoping the next round wouldn't be nearly as painful as the first, he raised his glass and rejoiced with Kandi,
"Ah yes! Oh man of wheat, show us what you've got!"

(SO SORRY I took so long I didn't see there was a second page and thought Ash didn't reply yet ahhhh!)

Rufus: Faking a blush (or maybe not, it IS Rufus), he put his hands on the sides of his face and swayed side to side happily.

"Oh, gentlemen, stop~ " He swooned. "You flatter this humble spirit far too much~~ "

Turning his back to them, he couldn't necessarily hide EVERYTHING he was doing but he certainly tried his best to keep the drinks a surprise until he turned back around.

Shuffling through and grabbing an assortment of bottles, for Cain he whipped up something involving peppermint schnapps, peppermint liqueur, cream, and just a splash of grenadine. He slid it across the bar to him first with a coy wink, assuring Haar he'd have to wait a moment longer but it would certainly be worth it.

Turning his back again as he saw Cain experimentally examining his beverage, Rufus decided there was only one POSSIBLE thing he could make for the Halloween teacher. Quite possibly the most fitting shot ever created; He mixed Amaretto, vanilla vodka, Triple Sec, and orange juice, before finishing it off with a splash of grenadine.

"Normally, the rim would be coated with sugar..." He drawled as he carefully handed Haar the drink, as though he was handling fine china. "But I think it's going to be sweet enough to rot all your remaining teeth out and perhaps get to work on dissolving your bones with sweetness as well without the addition of even more candy-coating."

((The drink Rufus has prepared for Haar is called a trick-or-treat and normally it not only gets the sugar-coated rim, but it even gets a stick of rock candy put in it as a stir stick. IT'S REALLY GOSH DANG SWEET but it sounds delicious and I want one. :I))

Cain: After swirling the contents of the glass a bit, he placed the rim to his lips and took a small drink. He set the cup down as a bright expression overwhelmed his face and made his crows' feet stand out.

"Rufus!" He cried as he somehow straightened his back even further. "This is delicious!" He took another sip and put a hand on his cheek as they started filling with their normal rosy color in an even more saturated tone. "You truly are a master of all culinary arts!" He took another few sips out of his cup as he glanced over at Haar to see how his drink was going over with the Halloween teacher. You just never knew.

Haar: Watching Cain in eager excitement, happily reached for his own drink and examined it. He smiled back at the other men and he tilted his head back and took the shot. It appeared to go down rather smooth at first, but then he threw a hand over his mouth. Laughing ecstatically, he let 2 teeth fall into his hands and showed them;
"Why, it looks like your drink was sweet enough to give me cavities!"
He pointed to the two new empty spaces in his mouth.

Laughing again, "May I request another??"

Rufus: Pleased as punch with Cain's reaction to his beverage, the harvest lord smiled brightly and creases formed at the corners of his eyes.

"I am positively delighted to hear you enjoy it, kind sir." He bowed to Cain, before also turning his attention to Haar and watching the other fellow down his drink.

Rufus was less than delighted to see he had caused the poor gentleman to lose some teeth.

"Y-you want a-another?!" He stammered, flabbergasted at Haar's enthusiasm. "Really, if it... caused that... I don't want to burden you any further!" He made a move like he was about to come out from behind the bar, despite Haar's request.

((HAAR. I LOVE YOU. AND YOU TOO, CLAIRE. AND YOU TOO, ASH. I JUST... LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS THREAD.))

Cain: After dropping his glass on the table, he made a sudden move to stand when the Halloween teacher spat out teeth.

"M-Mister Grimm... Is that normal?" he asked cautiously as his brow knitted and he raised his hand toward his friend's shoulder. He had seen many interesting things come out of Halloweentown-- everything from singing corpses to brooding werewolves to demons striped much like tigers (as well as tiger-striped parental figures, at that. Were tigers big in Halloweentown?) with wants, needs and emotional capacities that varied across the board-- but he couldn't say he had ever seen any of them spit out teeth after having something sweet! If someone did that in Christmastown, most nearby would be extremely perturbed, but the land of fright and darkness operated under different rules entirely and even something as obviously wrong as losing adult teeth might have been perfectly commonplace in Halloweentown! He couldn't jump to conclusions-- the thought alone of doing so went against his better judgement of respecting the traditions of other towns.

Still, though. He couldn't stop himself from thinking, 'Rudolph's nose, have I not seen everything already?.' He had a feeling the answer was a resounding no.

Haar: Still sitting and slightly spinning again, he rubbed the sides of his face.
"Why... I imagine it's normal!! ...Most likely! Actually, in all honesty I have not the slightest idea, AHAHA!" He held out a tooth in front of him and inspected it. "My, is that what those look like? Disgusting!" And then placed his teeth in a nearby ashtray. As the trio sat in silence, he pondered what he just did, and suddenly proclaimed to himself, "OH DEAR, why I'm at it..."
He brought a hand up quickly and checked to see if his eye was still in tact. (I'm not saying he just stuck a hand in his eye but I'm not saying he didn't either lol) When he found it was still in place, he let out a quick sigh of relief.
"At least I still have THAT!"

He gestured towards Rufus and Cain,
"On a lighter note, would you care to continue? Haha..."
