Cain and Dnasra

Cain walked along the hallways, curious about what the fuss was for in the Halloween corridor. There was much chit-chat about a mummy or... pharaoh or something. He wasn't sure.

He took the stairs down and happened across exactly what the rumors stated. That was certainly a pharaoh.

"Oh! Hello! My name is Cain Kandi and I teach on the Christmas floor and handle many of the disciplinary issues. And you are...? Are you perhaps applying for the vacant position of Halloween teacher?" He smiled and offered his hand out for a handshake, controlling his face so he didn't look taken aback. He was mostly used to Halloween... characters and such, but every once in a while he was reminded about how diverse they could be.

Dnasra smiled one of his gross toothed grins. He slapped Cain's hand. "Yes, I am trying for the position of..." He thought about the word. It wasn't tutor, like he had been used to. Something with a t. "Halls of ween teacher. You must work under virework."

Cain blinked and replaced his hand in his pocket before thinking about what he said. "Under... Under Ms. Hendrix, you mean?" He chuckled a bit before saying, "She's actually my assistant, but I suppose she does normally work above me, yes. She makes my job much, much easier to handle. I take it you are affiliated with Ms. Hendrix already?"

Dnasra licked his teeth. "Virework was the one that vound me in the box." He sounded oddly proud of that fact.

"Ah." He understood the fuss after hearing that.

Interested now, Cain said, "Excuse my severely lacking manners, but I haven't even caught your name yet! You are...?"

Dnasra petted a little dung beetle sitting on his shoulder. "My name is Dnasra. Son of Sota and Kaum. Ruler of Egypt, until I died and was brought to the afterlife. And I must say, I did not expect you people to be so..pale looking." He grabbed the beetle off his shoulder. "This is one of my many servants in the afterlife."

Cain's face distorted into a look of slight bewilderment. "W-well.. there's a chocolate border collie on the Easter floor that isn't so pale, as well as many other... more colorful students. And he's--" Cain strained for a word-- "lovely. Quite lovely, Mr. Dnasra."

Cain wasn't sure if he should stay to try to make sense of the situation or make up an excuse about work to leave.

"He or she...it won't tell me which, knows a lot more about this whole Hall of weens then I do. It also speaks of some day about bugs and some guy it really dislikes and everyone dislikes in the town of Hall of weens. Dung beetle guides make very little sense, don't you agree? How did you die, man of canes and sugary sweets." Dnasra smiled, again.

Not sure how to approach this topic, he merely smiled and said, "Oh, I'm very much alive, sir. I haven't died, thankfully, nor do I plan on doing so for many years to come."

Dnasra looked Cain up and down a few times. "Do you happen to rule this place? I notice you have a very vine scepter."

Cain laughed at this. "There has been talk of making me headmaster, so I suppose it could be a possibility, but... I believe our ideas of ruling are a little different." He looked down at his cane. "Thank you, though. I enjoy my cane as well."

Dnasra looked at Cain, confused. "There is only one way to rule. Everything else is not ruling.." He thought about the right word for a moment
"It is just supervising."

Cain raised an eyebrow, amused. "What about a bit of both?"

Dnasra threw his left arm in the air. "Well, the best only do the ruling. Supervising is what you make your lowers do."

"I see. I'll keep that in mind." He glanced around. "Have there been any other applicants for the Halloween teacher position around? I heard there were two, but I've only seen you thus far..."

Dnasra thought about it for a moment. "There is a man with a nice looking cap that grabs things and a face that reminds me of my father's mummy." He shrugged.

Cain blinked. "W-well I should look forward to meeting him, then." Straining for conversation, he then asked, "Have you been given a tour yet, Mr. Dnasra?"

Dnasra looked at the floor. "No. When I asked Virework to, she said no. All I asked was for her to show me a few things. Virework didn't like that."
Dnasra's beetle stares at Cain.

"Well, Mr. Dnasra, I would love to give you a tour, if you'd like." He eyed the beetle. "You too, little one." He was getting the hang of this Halloween thing.

Dnasra smiled, "Yes, that would be wonderful."
The beetle crawled on Dnasra's head.

Cain grinned and gestured to their surroundings. "Currently, we're in the Halloween hallway. Through those doors are classrooms and--" he turned to face the opposite side of the school-- "through those doors are the dorms and the common rooms. I can show them to you, if you'd like and if you haven't already been there."

Dnasra thought about it. "I am not sure where I have been or where I was vound vor that matter."
The bettle squeaked a few times.
"Oh, I guess I was where it says." Dnasra said.

Cain blinked. "And where was that? I'm afraid I don't speak beetle," he said with a slight smile.

Dnasra blinked a few times. "I don't either...I speak scarab. He said we have just been sitting here...or she.

"Yes, excuse me, I don't speak scarab," he corrected himself hastily. "Ah, so you haven't seen anything, I suppose? Well, follow me, Mr. Dnasra, and I'll show you the common rooms and whatnot." He turned to begin heading down the hallway, gesturing for the Pharaoh to follow him.
